We value a level playing field, where everyone has an opportunity to succeed. We work to create a business climate that attracts new investment and enhances growth and expansion opportunities of existing companies.
We value integrity. We adhere to the highest of ethical standards.
We value community. We connect businesses to each other, to prospective customers, to essential resources and other community groups. We facilitate connections that lead to long-term business relationships built on trust.
We value lifelong learning. We help prepare people of all ages to fill job openings by advocating for education that is linked to job skills.
We value both innovation and tradition. As a proactive and forward-thinking organisation, we create meaningful programs that add value to meet the needs of an ever-changing world. We embrace the possibilities of the future while preserving our community’s rich history.
We value sustainability. We provide resources to help our community become more eco-friendly.
We value diversity. We respect the variety of people, businesses and ideas in our community and consider this diversity to be an advantage.
The Rockingham Kwinana Chamber of Commerce has a proud and varied history within the local business community starting in 1970 as the Rockingham Kwinana Businessmen’s Association.
The inaugural chairman was respected businessman Norm Snow, Proprietor of Rays Hardware in Railway Terrace.
During the 1970’s the RC of C established a series of fund raising events which were extremely popular in the young developing town. The committee held socials, cabarets and formal black tie events in Flinders Hall (formerly opposite the guns at the War Memorial in Flinders Lane) and the Rockingham City Community Hall.
Today the Chamber is the peak industry body representing the interests of the business community in the South-West Metropolitan corridor.
Over the years we have had a number of members that have shown great commitment to the Chamber. In recognition of this commitment they have been inducted as Life Members of the Chamber.
Our current Life Members (pictured below) are Dale Kerferd, Barry Sammels, Rick Palmer, Paul Ogilivie, Laurie Smith, Stacy Graham, Alison Gibson and Justin Smith.
